The Giles Community Health Needs assessment began in 2015 with the help of community organizations and leaders, who form a Community Health Needs Assessment Team (CHAT). The team has collected primary and secondary data and held focus groups in underserved areas of the Giles community. The top five identified areas of concern and focus are: tobacco use, general wellness due to lack of physical activity, poor eating habits that  lead to chronic disease, mental and substance abuse services, access to adult dental services, and alcohol and drug use. The team is in the process of completing the final report which will be available at by October 2015. Once completed, strategic planning meetings will focus on the implementation of programs that better address these priority areas of focus. For more information: Shenika Dillard,
