This past spring the Floyd County Economic Development Authority held the Floyd C4: Creators, Curriculum, Coaching and the New Business Challenge. This event signified an important step towards Floyd’s long-term goal of strengthening and diversifying its local economy, by spurring creativity and innovation. The challenge included a 6 week   program of classes and mentoring, drawing on the skills of successful local business people. Following one-on-one business counseling and coaching, participants were given the opportunity to pitch their business idea in a final challenge. Over $11,000 was awarded to participants; the winner-Rhonda Withington- received a $5,000 award to for use in the development of her natural and organic body care product line.
